State Cup Report Over 40's Men

Our local team performed well at the State Cup at the Gold Coast over the weekend.
QLD Touch State Cup 2020 - Mackay Men’s 40 Team
Congratulations to the players of this region and the north who Represented Mackay at the recent Qld Touch State Cup held on the Gold Coast!
With limited preparation, the interruptions to sport that has been 2020, no NQ Champs to play together as a side and the complexity of not having the complete team in any one training session. Let alone the fact that some players in the team had not ever met before let alone played a game of touch together prior to the competition kicking off.
Their ability to compete given these circumstances was a great representation for our area & Compete they did!
In a pool of 8 teams from across Qld and due to the short competition format only the top 2 shooting it out in a grand final they came within a Touchdown of making a shot at the title narrowly going down to the current National Champions and last years State Champions in their second last round game.
7 Rounds (5-2)

Game 1. Win 5-3 vs Bundaberg
Game 2. Loss 4-6 vs Brisbane
